Recent studies have implicated that these disorders have ST:STUDY_COMMENTS developmental basis due to maternal exposure to adverse insults including ST:STUDY_COMMENTS endocrine disruptors such as Bisphenol A (BPA). As BPA is present in maternal ST:STUDY_COMMENTS serum, amniotic fluid, cord blood taken at birth, placenta, colostrum and breast ST:STUDY_COMMENTS milk suggests that BPA has developmental impacts. In fact developmental BPA ST:STUDY_COMMENTS exposure have been linked to intrauterine growth restriction and low birth ST:STUDY_COMMENTS weight offspring, risk factors for adult cardiometabolic abnormalities.
