Additionally, individuals PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY with coldstimulated BAT activation have decreased levels of metabolites from the PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY de novo NAD+ biosynthesis pathway (tryptophan, kynurenine). Serum nicotinamide PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY correlates positively with cold-stimulated BAT activation, whereas tryptophan PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY and kynurenine correlates negatively. Furthermore, the expression of genes PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY involved in NAD+ biosynthesis in BAT are related to markers of metabolic health.
