To identify distinct biomarkers capable of distinguishing these two PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY subtypes, we conducted non-targeted metabolomics and targeted MS analysis using PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY LC-MS on the LUAD and LUSC patients, as well as a healthy control group. PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY Compared to the controls, 29 and 30 differential metabolites were identified in PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY LUAD and LUSC patients respectively, mainly amino acids, phospholipids, and PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY purines. Targeted MS analysis was performed on the validation cohort and machine PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY learning was used to screen differential metabolites as biomarker panels. PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY Specifically, N-acetylneuraminate, glutamine, indole-lactic acid, orotic acid, PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY and pyruvate were identified as a biomarker panel to distinguish the LUAD from PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY controls (AUC=0.965). Moreover, combining N-acetylneuraminate, aspartate, orotic PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY acid, lysine, and N2,N2-dimethylguanosine as a good biomarker panel for PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY discriminating the LUSC patients from healthy volunteers (AUC=0.943). Lipid PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY profile showed that 7 PEs, 1 LPI, 1 PA, and 1 PS were identified as potential PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY biomarkers for diagnosing LUAD with AUC value of 1.00, and 8 SMs, 1 PE, and 1 PS PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY were identified for distinguish LUSC with AUC value of 1.00. Notably, the PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY biomarkers panel compose of SM (24:1), PE (16:0e/18:1), LPE (17:0), and PE PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY (14:0/18:2) also could discriminate the LUAD and LUSC patients with AUC value of PR:PROJECT_SUMMARY 0.948.
