| Collection Summary: | Cecal metabolome of specific-pathogen-free mice fed with five distinct rodent diets with varying fiber content and source. |
| Sample Type: | Cecum |
Treatment:
| Treatment ID: | TR002268 |
| Treatment Summary: | Experiments were performed with 6-week old female BALB/c mice (Charles River Laboratories, France), housed in the specific-pathogen-free (SPF) facility of the Luxembourg Institute of Health. Mice were fed on their respective diets for 40 days and then sacrificed by cervical dislocation. |
Sample Preparation:
| Sampleprep ID: | SP002262 |
| Sampleprep Summary: | Cecal contents were lyophilized using a VD-800R lyophilizer (TAITEC) for 24 hours. Freeze-dried samples were disrupted with 3.0-mm Zirconia Beads (Biomedical Science) by vigorous shaking (1,500 rpm for 10 min) using Shake Master (Biomedical Science). Cecal metabolites were extracted using the methanol:chloroform:water extraction protocol. |
